Concordia Unversity's Quebec Scientific Entrepreneurship Program

Scientists learn entrepreneurship and business acumen to commercialize university-developed technologies.

The Quebec Scientific Entrepreneruship Program launched in January 2019 as an online bilingual entrepreneurial training program supported by Fonds de recherche du Quebec and executed by District 3 Innovation Centre at Concordia University. The program is free and open to all graduates from Quebec academic institutions. The program teaches entrepreneurship and business acumen to scientists to help them commercialize university developed technologies. It also identifies resources (funding, network, etc.) necessary for these scientists to create deep tech startups. The main outcomes of this porject are to create jobs for university graduates, especially PhDs and Postdocs, and to increase the ROI of government research funding.
