University of Guelph-Humber Justice Studies Mock Interviews

Fourth year University of Guelph-Humber Justice Studies students participate in annual Mock Interview Event virtually.

On November 30, 2020, we held our annual Mock Interview Event via Zoom for the 4th year Justice Studies students at the University of Guelph-Humber. For These interviews we enlisted volunteers in fields that our 4th year Justice Studies students are preparing to enter including policing, border services, corrections, law, graduate school, youth work, parole and probation, investigations, security and more. This event represented an incredible Work-Integrated Learning opportunity for our students, where working professionals interview them, provide candid and constructive feedback, and where students can learn first-hand about career pathways, hidden opportunities, and build and expand their networks. This year, more than 150 students participated along with 35 volunteer interviewers from justice and public safety and beyond. Interviewers asked students about their career goals, problem solving, teamwork, and leadership experiences and offered them candid and constructive feedback. Despite the virtual setting, both students and interviewers found it to be a valuable experience.
