The Role:
The Member Relations Manager works closely with BHER’s Membership base and is responsible for deepening relationships with BHER’s existing members, through convening and projects, and cultivating relationships with potential new members, through recruitment and engagement. The role reports to the VP, Corporate Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement, satisfaction, and retention
  • Work with the Executive Team to develop long-term member engagement objectives that contribute to the overall success and growth of the organization
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with BHER members through regular communication, collaboration, and engagement initiatives 
  • Serve as a point of contact for BHER’s membership base acting promptly and professionally
  • Work with internal teams to create collaboration and convening opportunities for BHER members
  • Remain up to date on member initiatives, industry trends, and related government activities 
  • Track and report on member activities and engagement
  • Act as an internal advisor to the Executive Team 
  • Develop and curate a new member pipeline
  • Other specific tasks as required to support BHER’s growth and development
     

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in a administration, marketing, communications, public relations, or other related field
  • 8+ years’ experience event coordination and delivery
  • Proven experience in member relations or client management roles 
  • Experience in working with government-supported projects or programs would be an asset 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within an organization
  • A passion for delivering an exceptional member experience
  • Ability to think critically and strategically to problem solve
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to other projects of varying size, scope, and complexity
  • Demonstrated success in dealing with complex issues in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and decision making
  • Bilingualism is considered a strong asset
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented, highly productive environment
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple project timelines and deliverables
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada
